Gwandukjung, a national treasure no.322, is located in the very center of Jeju city. In 1448, the realm of King Sejong of the Chosun Dynasty, Shin Suk-chung, the minister of Jeju built this site with the purpose of training soldiers, and educating martialism to them as well.

The Jeju Mokkwana has been the pivotal center of the administration of the Jeju area, from Tamra-guk era to the Chosun Dynasty. It was also appointed as the national historic site no. 380. It is the only restored government office of the Chosun dynasty of Korea.

Designated and protected as the national cultural asset no. 134, Samsunghyeol is the place where the birth fables of Goeul-la, Yangeul-la, Bueul-la Samsung family have been passed down. Three hyeols in the form of 'poom' is still preserved until this day.

Tapdong means the area around Samdo-dong, a beautiful place known as the most picturesque site in Jeju-do. Various cultural events and exhibitions are held in the plaza often, thus many citizens and visitors enjoy coming to the plaza.
